A Harrogate couple's self-catering apartment will feature in an upcoming series of a reality TV game show.
Ben Dean and partner Hollie Harper will appear on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed on September 15.
The show sees accommodation owners take turns staying in each other’s venues, then rate them. The winner is the establishment named the best value for money.
The couple own Harrogate House - five apartments above Cattitude, the Cats Protection charity shop on Commercial Street.
Three of the apartments are showcased during the programme.

Mr Dean told the Stray Ferret they didn’t apply to be on the show. He said:
We actually got approached by Channel 4. We got a dodgy-looking email and thought it was a scam at first. But once we realised it was real, we knew it was a great opportunity to showcase the business and Harrogate.
After a few Zoom meetings, the producer and cameraman met the couple in Harrogate for an interview.
Then, over two weeks in June last year, the pair visited the various other property owners as they filmed the series. Filming typically lasted from 8am to 12am, from Monday to Friday.
Mr Dean said two of the properties were in Yorkshire, one was in the Midlands, and one was down south. He added that although it was intense and tiring, it was “absolutely brilliant”.

So, how was the couple’s experience on the show? Mr Dean had his say:
Nervous and exciting. Hollie was more nervous than me because she knew the show can be quite brutal. I can’t say too much but there were certainly plenty of people playing a game.
Having visited the three other accommodations, Mr Dean said the couple only thought one of them was better than theirs and he was confident they’ve done well.
Even if you're not an avid enjoyer of reality television, Mr Dean says there is a good reason to tune in:
From a local aspect, it really showcases Harrogate. We did some nice activities in the centre and met some local figures too.

The first episode will be broadcast on Monday, September 15 at 5pm, and will continue at the same time for five days.
