A Harrogate-born gymnast has been picked to represent Great Britain at this summer’s Olympic Games.
Harry Hepworth, 20, will make his debut at the games in Paris.
He has been selected alongside six-time Olympic medalist Max Whitlock and Joe Fraser, who represented Team GB at Tokyo 2020.
Harry, who is part of a five-strong team in the men’s artistic gymnastics, will also head into the games alongside teammates Jake Jarman and Luke Whitehouse.
His selection comes after the 20-year-old won silver at the European Championships in Rimini, Italy, in April.
Mark England, Team GB chef de mission, said:
Team GB has proven itself as a serious medal contender in all three of gymnastics disciplines selected, and it is fantastic to head to Paris with athletes who not only have games experience, but experience of standing on that Olympic rostrum.
I am sure all eight Olympic debutants in the team will lean on their experience this summer, and the team will once again make the nation proud.
