St Peter’s Church in Harrogate is running a week-long consultation on what takes place in the building as a major fundraising campaign gets underway.
The church, which this year celebrates the 150th anniversary of its consecration, aims to raise £330,000 for major roof repairs.
Parishioners are invited to drop in for tea and cake this week to discuss how they want to see the use of the church evolve.
The table project, as the consultation is known, ends on Sunday.
Vicar Alan Garrow said:
As we seek grants and support for this work, we need to ensure that what takes place under this roof serves the whole community. We are therefore asking residents and everyone who uses the town centre to tell us what they would like to see taking place in St Peter’s.

Rev Garrow added the appeal was open for donations “but at this stage we are primarily concerned to engage the interest and ideas of the local community”.
Richard Jackson, the former chairman of Nidd Vale Motors who oversaw a £3.2 million appeal to improve facilities at St Peter’s more than a decade ago, is chairing the fundraising appeal.
