Harrogate Lioness Rachel Daly, received an MBE at Windsor Castle yesterday (September 30).
Prince William awarded the medal for services to football.
The striker made 84 appearances for England, scoring 16 goals, and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Women’s Euros in 2022.
Daly, 33, retired from international duty in April last year, but continues to play for Aston Villa, for whom she has scored 38 goals in 64 appearances.
She has played all four games for the Villans so far this season.
On an Instagram post yesterday, Daly said:
A really proud day for me & my family. It’s an absolute honour to receive my MBE.
