Businesses in Harrogate are being urged to get planting in readiness for the summer’s floral competition season.

Harrogate in Bloom is continuing its tradition of celebrating the town's floral heritage with a variety of competitions to engage the community and enhance the town.

The categories for the Harrogate in Bloom Awards 2025 are:

  • Hotels and Guest Houses
  • Pubs and Restaurants
  • Communal grounds
  • Residential Community

In addition, the group is once again holding the Floral Shop Window Competition, in partnership with Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID).

According to Harrogate in Bloom, judges will be looking for innovation, the 'wow factor', and environmentally friendly features. Points will be awarded for planting, container style, and overall maintenance.

Entries close on June 29, 2025, and judging will take place between July 14 and July 26.

The winners will be announced at the Harrogate in Bloom Awards evening on October 8, at the Cedar Court Hotel.
