A Harrogate man has been charged with making thousands of indecent images of children.
Robert Johnson, 61, of Nesfield Close, appeared before Harrogate Magistrates Court on Friday morning (May 2), where he spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
Mr Johnson is charged with making making 302 category C indecent images and four videos of a child between September 2017 and 2022.
In the same timeframe, it is alleged that he made 1,523 category B indecent images and four videos of a child.
Mr Johnson is also alleged to have made 245 category A indecent images and 16 videos of a child between September 2020 and February 2023.
Magistrates referred the case to York Crown Court, where the 61-year-old will appear for a plea hearing on June 9 this year.
