A Harrogate man has been accused of sexually assaulting a girl in the early 2000s.
David Stewart, 37, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (October 23) when he spoke only to confirm his name and address.
He is charged with 10 offences, all of which relate to the same alleged victim, who was a child at the time.
Mr Stewart, who gave the court an address of Albert Place, in the Starbeck area, is accused of one count of attempted unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl, two counts of gross indecency with a girl and seven counts of indecently assaulting a girl.
All of the offences are alleged to have occurred between 2000 and 2003.
No pleas were entered and the case was transferred straight to York Crown Court, where Mr Stewart is next due to appear on November 24.
