A Harrogate biker will compete in a motorsport world cup next year.

Teenager Greg Marshall will take part in a series of races between May and October for the FIM Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup.

The European races, for riders aged 14 to 20, are regarded as a stepping stone for young talent to develop in the motorsport industry.

Greg, who has been motorcycle racing since age the age of nine, competed at Silverstone in a junior championship in 2023.

This year, he finished sixth overall in the British Superteen Championship.

Greg will race for AG Motorsport Italia in the competition. He will be the first international rider to race for the Italian squad.

The tournament includes 12 races in six European stages, in Hungary, Spain, the UK, France, Italy and Portugal. All racers ride the Yamaha R3.

Greg will undergo an extensive pre-season training programme ahead of the series.

He said:

I’m really excited for this opportunity to move to the world superbike paddock with AG Motorsport Italia. This is a new adventure for me so it’s amazing to have such a great team and great people around me.

For sure it will be a challenge but I’m super excited for it and I’m ready to learn and adapt. Huge thanks to everybody at AG Motorsport Italia, my manager, and my mum and dad for all being by my side and supporting me on this journey. New bike, new team, new circuits, new championship - let’s go!

Alessandra Gambardella, of AG Motorsport Italia, said:

We are truly excited to welcome Greg Marshall to our team. This is a special moment for us, as Greg becomes the first international rider to race with AG Motorsport Italia in the FIM R3 Yamaha BLU CRU World Cup. Our team has built its identity on a deep passion for racing and on the experience gained over many years working with the Yamaha R3.

Now we want to put all that knowledge and dedication at Greg’s service, helping him grow and reach his full potential. For us, this is more than just a new season — it is a journey of trust, commitment, and vision for the future. Step by step, together, we aim to turn this project into something truly remarkable.
