Harrogate mums give up Mother's Day to raise money for mental health
A group of Harrogate women are set to hold a fundraising walk this Mother’s Day.
The community interest company Mamas Matter, which supports local women experiencing poor mental health perinatally, is inviting people to take part in its 20-for-the-20 challenge.
Founder Jo McGregor, who launched the initiative in 2018 after experiencing post-natal depression, told the Stray Ferret the idea for the walk stemmed from recent statistics about perinatal mental health:

The event, which will take place on March 10, will consist of a 20km route from Oatlands Community Centre to Ripley and back.
People are encouraged to bring their children to join them on the last kilometre of the walk, which will finish with tea and cakes.
Ms McGregor said she hopes to raise £2,500, adding the event is free to attend but people are encouraged to donate to Mamas Matter.
