A man has been accused of stealing thousands of pounds worth of pharmaceutical drugs in Harrogate.
Kurt Day, of Guildford Walk in Sheffield, has been charged with one count of theft by an employee.
According to court documents, Mr Day is alleged to have stolen weight-loss jab Mounjaro and dihydrocodeine – a drug used to treat severe pain – from Well Pharmacy Harrogate, where he is believed to have been working at the time.
The goods allegedly stolen on August 1, 2024, had a total value of £4,285.57.
Mr Day, 38, is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates Court today (July 24).
Health leaders in North Yorkshire issued a warning about weight-loss jabs in May after a woman was hospitalised.
The woman, from the Selby area, was taken to intensive care after using a weight-loss jab allegedly sourced from a local salon. She was later discharged, but officials said at the time two other people in the county had also fallen ill from weight-loss jabs.
