Well Pharmacy has announced it is launching a mole screening service in Harrogate.
Melanoma skin cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the UK but nine in 10 patients live over a decade with early detection.
Well Pharmacy is operating the service, which is aimed at anyone concerned about a new mole or blemish on their skin and doesn’t want to wait for a GP referral, at 10 stores nationally in partnership with Map My Mole.
It is being offered in Harrogate at Kingswood Medical Centre on Wetherby Road.
As part of the £49 screening, the moles will be assessed using technology then reviewed by a consultant dermatologist.
Well Pharmacy said in a statement
Often people will notice a new mole or freckle and ignore it but if you notice something which concerns you then this new service will ensure that you get peace of mind or further treatment as quickly as possible.
GP waiting times can be long and private dermatology fees are often unaffordable. This partnership with Map My Mole, means patients can be seen quickly in their local pharmacy, and receive a specialist indicative opinion within 48 hours.
