A Harrogate takeaway has closed temporarily following a fire last night (February 4).
Harrogate Brunch Club, located at the Harrogate Eats site on Bower Street, posted a photo of the incident on social media, saying it will be "closed for a couple of days”.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s overnight incident log says Harrogate and Knaresborough firefighters were called to Harrogate at 6.17pm following reports of smoke logging in the kitchen of a flat above a commercial premises.
Firefighters located the fire within the wall cavity of the site below the flat, the log added.
Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Harrogate Brunch Club told the Stray Ferret:
We can confirm that a fire was reported at the brunch club and Harrogate Eats premises last night. I'm relieved to say that everybody is safe. Despite the damage, it appears to be less severe than initially feared.
The cause of the fire seems to have originated from outside of the building. As this is currently under investigation we cannot comment further.
The company expressed its gratitude for the fire service and said firefighters' "quick and professional response saved the business from further harm".
It added: "Their actions were nothing short of heroic."
Harrogate Brunch Club also said:

A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the Stray Ferret the fire caused two square metres of damage to the wall cavity.
There was also "light smoke damage", they said.
