A Harrogate company that supplies advanced telecoms services to SMEs in Yorkshire is taking on the big national providers by offering something they can’t.
Xi Comms, which is based at Windsor House on Cornwall Road, offers cloud telephony, business broadband, mobile phones, intelligent numbers and contact centre services – all things the larger competitors can also provide.

One of the company’s most loyal customers is historic James Street jeweller Ogden of Harrogate.
Robert Ogden, who runs the 132-year-old family firm with his brother Ben, said:
At Ogden’s we were looking to update our telephony systems to take advantage of new digital and cloud capabilities, and to bring both our locations, in Harrogate and York, under one system.
After several years with a very large and rather faceless national provider we were keen to form a relationship with a local business in Harrogate, and Xi Comms was strongly recommended to us by several businesses and IT providers.
We have been very impressed with the seamless way in which Xi Comms effected the transition to the new system, also updating our private leased line, which now consistently delivers close 200 Mb/s download and upload speed.
The new equipment is robust and works very efficiently, and our monthly bills are very fair. When there have been issues, the team have been able to resolve these quickly and effectively, either remotely or in person.
Ogden of Harrogate has been a fixture on James Street for over a century.
