Harrogate will host the strongman European Championships in October.
The continent’s strongest men and women will do battle at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4.
The event is being promoted by Giants Live, the Boroughbridge-based strongman world tour. It has previously held international events in Knaresborough, Leeds and York.
Eyes will be on Harrogate strongman Luke Richardson, who won Europe’s Strongest Man in Leeds last year after four years of injury woes.
It was the former Starbeck lifeguard’s first European win since his Knaresborough debut in 2020.
Richardson is due to compete in next month's Europe's Strongest Man competition in Leeds. The lineup for Harrogate's competition has not yet been announced.
The Great Yorkshire Events Centre name was unveiled in January last year as a rebrand to bring the Yorkshire Event Centre, the Pavilions of Harrogate and the Great Yorkshire Showground under one name.
It has two large event halls with a combined floor space of over 6,000 square metres, and can hold over 3,000 spectators.
