Harrogate Town Women’s under-23s side progressed into the semi-finals of the League Shield after a 3-1 win against Leeds City on Sunday (March 2).
The Harrogate side, which plays in Division Four of the West Riding County Women's Football League, go into the final four with Goole, Ackworth Girls and Bradford City under-23s.
Leeds City stand two leagues ahead of Harrogate Town under-23s. Goole are in the same division, whilst Ackworth Girls and Bradford City are both three leagues above the Harrogate side.
Town went 3-0 up before half time, after a 25-yard screamer from Chloe Hall and a clinical quickfire double from Ellie Thorburn.
A pinpoint cross found Thorburn inside the box, which she trapped under her feet and finished with composure into the bottom left corner for her first.
Minutes later, another cross found the forward inside the box, who took a touch and hit a clean half-volley from close range into the near post.
Tamsin Connor found the back of the net for the Leeds side in the second half, but Town were able to hold on and book their tickets into the semi-final.
The semi-final draw has not yet been made.
