Harrogate travel agent ‘starting a new chapter’
A Harrogate travel agent which recently closed its town centre shop has said it is still very much open for business.
Ventur Luxury Travel closed its shop on Montpellier Parade on September 11, and has moved to an online model.
The travel consultants are still Harrogate-based, but will work with clients primarily by phone, email and video call, and also offer face-to-face meetings at a convenient location such as a hotel or coffee shop.
The company says the decision was largely due to changing consumer trends.
John Cooper, marketing director for the Gray Dawes Group, which owns the brand, said:
Ventur Luxury Travel is very much open for business. The decision reflects the way our clients increasingly choose to engage with us. Rather than visiting a high-street store, many now prefer to speak directly with their travel expert by phone, email or video call – and, when they want to meet face-to-face, to do so somewhere convenient to them.
So, while there may no longer be a Ventur shop window on the Harrogate high street, there is still a Ventur team here, still creating extraordinary holidays, and still very much part of the local community.
The hope is that the move to a remote model will also give Ventur an ability to reach clients in the wider area, allowing the business to expand.
It is emphasised that the same team remains in place, so existing customer relationships will continue to be developed.
