The owner of the Black Swan pub in Burn Bridge says it is investing in a “major revamp” while it looks for a new tenant.
Star Pubs, which is the pub arm of Heineken UK, is advertising for an experienced operator to lead a “strong food-focused business on a standout, fully upgraded site”.
The Black Swan closed in June when the sitting tenant’s lease came to an end and they chose not to renew.
At the time, Star Pubs said it planned to install a temporary operator to run it by the end of that month, but the pub appears not to have been open since then.
The Black Swan is a Victorian pub, but its location by the bridge over Crimple Beck appears to have been occupied by a pub since at least the 1650s.
A listing on the Star Pubs website says:
The pub benefits from being the only pub in an area of around 2,500 adults. The affluent customer base is made up of young, midlife and mature adults.
As the only pub in an affluent, fast-growing village near Harrogate, with no nearby rivals, this is a rare opportunity.
