A 21-year-old Ripon man has been selected to represent Great Britain at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Championships.
Super-heavyweight Josh Berriman is the UK’s number one under-23 lifter.
He is now set to fly to Malta to wear the Great Britain vest at the IPF World Championships in Malta on Sunday (September 8).
Powerlifting consists of three lifts: squat, bench press and deadlift. Josh's personal bests are 350kg, 190kg and 350kg for the three lifts respectively.
Former Ripon Grammar School student Josh works full time in the warehouse and fabrication department at Lapicida, a Harrogate-based stone and tile specialist.
He said:
It’s been great to have the support of all my friends at Lapicida. It’s a great place to work and I know they are all behind me and will be cheering me on.
