Harry Satloka – the face and brain behind Harrogate's Free Walking Tours – will be back in business next month.
The tours were paused when Harry, who can often be found sporting shorts, a tie and a waistcoat no matter the weather, set off on an epic cycling adventure last July.
Seventeen countries, 6,567km of cycling and a collision with a van later, Harry arrived at the Egyptian pyramids in October.
He has so far raised nearly £3,000 for Harrogate charity Artizan International, which supports differently-abled people in the UK and Latin America, but the fundraiser is still open to donate to.
The last time Harry visited the Pyramids was after he lost his mum. This time, he took a piece of his dad on his trip:
Me and dad left some of her ashes inside the Pyramid. So, this time I took some of my dad with me so that they could be back together.
Harry Satloka, the free walking tour guide in Harrogate, cycled all the way to the Egyptian Pyramids.
Harry launched the free walking tours in 2018, but after completing his mammoth cycling adventure, the future of the tours seemed uncertain.
He told us in October:
I still haven’t decided what will happen with the tours. They may return next year, but I am undecided at the moment.
But fear not; after a well-deserved rest, Harry's walking tours will resume once again from March 1.
Harry told the Stray Ferret today:
I’m delighted to say I will be back from March 1, 2025, on Saturdays and Sundays.
The tours will be held at 10.30am, midday and 1.30pm each weekend.
Harry said the tours will be similar to before although they are tailored to the guests.
But his boozy walking tours are currently on ice. For the time being, Harry will replace the boozy tours with events held in partnership with Cold Bath Brewery, but he hopes the boozy tours will return in the near future.
The Stray Ferret will be publishing an in-depth feature on Harry this weekend in which he talks about how his tours began, his once-in-a-lifetime adventure and more.
We followed Harry's adventure closely last year. You can find our coverage, which includes several interviews with Harry along the way, here.
