The headline musicians at next year's The Northern Aldborough Festival have today been announced.
The festival, which is one of the highlights of the summer festival season for northern arts lovers, brings some of the biggest names in classical music to the village near Boroughbridge.
Mezzo soprano Dame Sarah Connolly, accompanied by pianist Dame Imogen Cooper, are among the headline acts.
People can also look forward to the Fantasia Orchestra conducted by Tom Fetherstonhaugh, with Tamsin Waley-Cohen on violin; jazz singer Jacqui Dankworth; a performance of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love by Wild Arts and French hornist, Ben Goldscheider, playing with the Heath Quartert.
Former MP and journalist Matthew Parris will be the headline guest speaker.
Armonico Consort and Baroque Players
The festival will also welcome the Thanda Gumede Trio, Rachmaninov's Vespers will be performed by Armonico Consort and the New Voices singing competition will return.
The nationwide hunt for the UK’s best classic singer has a prize of £7,000.
Late night venue The Shed, will also return.
The last night outdoor concert, set in the grounds of Alborough Manor, will feature a 'leading pop act' the festival organisers said, culminating with a firework display.

Northern Aldborough Festival will take place from June 12 to 21, 2025.
Robert Ogden, who owns Ogden of Harrogate, is the festival’s artistic director.
