As we approach the longest day of the year on Sunday, many people will choose to mark the occasion in a special way.
A number of events are being held in the Harrogate district — from spiritual resets to ghostly tours.
Here are just some of the exciting events that will be taking place to mark the Summer Solstice.
Charity Firewalk, Boroughbridge
If you fancy a challenge, you can take part in a professionally guided firewalk in aid of UNICEF.
Walking over hot coals might sound painful, but the theory is that it helps to break through fear, build confidence and energise you.
The event will also include a calming sound bath, live music, comedy and a number of stalls, in aid of UNICEF and Amnesty International.
One Voice for Liberty - Summer Solstice Charity Event at Coronation Hall and Riverside, Boroughbridge - Sunday 21st June from 12pm. Free entry.

Valley Gardens is a great thing to do in Harrogate.
Yoga in Valley Gardens
If you fancy something more relaxing, you can take part in a yoga session in the beautiful surroundings of Valley Gardens.
The session, run by local yoga teacher Guneet Khurana, is suitable for all abilities and will focus on gentle movement, breathing techniques and meditation.
Community Yoga - Valley Gardens Bandstand Area, Harrogate - Sunday 21st June 11am-12.30pm. Free entry.
Oracle Card Reading, Harlow Hill
Not only do attendees of this event get to take part in pilates and yoga as part of their midsummer reset, but everyone gets an oracle card reading - similar to tarot cards but ‘less structured’.
The organiser hopes that ‘the combination of physical activity and spiritual exploration provides a holistic approach to well-being, making this midsummer event a truly transformative experience’.
Tickets can be bought online for £17.94. Harlow Hill Squash and Sports Club - Friday 19th June, 6.45pm – 8pm.

Go for a Solstice Saunter
The Solstice Saunter is a five-mile run on the trails of Bolton Abbey estate, organised by the Airedale Dodgers as a fundraising event for Sue Ryder.
The 7.30pm start means you can enjoy the late summer light and get some great views over Yorkshire.
There is also the option of a virtual entry, running a five-mile route of your own choice on the longest day. Entry is £26.
Closer to home, Knaresborough Striders is running up Almscliffe Crag on June 25, with a picnic being held at the top once you get there at approximately 8.15pm.
Suitable for various abilities, the start locations vary so you have the option to make the run anything from 5 miles to 13 miles long.
Various meeting points (see website) - Thursday 25th June, from 7.15pm.
Midsummer Ghost Walk, Knaresborough
Also later in the week, fans of the supernatural can explore Knaresborough on a ghostly walking tour.
Enjoy tales of hauntings, witchcraft and murders as you wander the historic town, even if the longer days mean it’s still light outside.
Best of all, all profits will be donated to charity.
Knaresborough Market Cross - Wednesday 24th June, 7pm. Tickets £3-£6, available online.
