An empty shop on Cold Bath Road in Harrogate is to be transformed into a pizza bar by the owners of Hoxton North, the popular café on the Crown roundabout.
North Slice will occupy the unit formerly taken by Catherine Smith Vintage Fashion, and the premises are currently being converted, with a view to opening in mid-July.
Taking a break from overseeing the refurbishment, owner Timothy Bosworth, who signed the lease on the unit just yesterday (May 8), told the Stray Ferret that he discovered his love for pizza whilst living in London and visiting New York with his wife.
The unit's window was given a temporary makeover this morning.
He said:
North Slice is about bringing people together to connect and share stories over great pizza. We aim to create an intimate, friendly space that feels like home.
Our pizzas are the product of a love affair inspired by the best pizzerias of Naples, New York City and London, but different – adequate toppings, vegetarian alternatives and unexpected flavours.
We play music that we love and focus on service with personality. Expect Negronis and Amaros, craft beers and cocktails.
How the premises looked this morning - before their overhaul.
Split across two floors, the "neighbourhood pizza bar" will serve pizza whole and by the slice, and offer table service, collection, and private hire.
Mr Bosworth added:
We're really excited to offer something new to Harrogate residents.
