A man has admitted to workplace theft at The Hydro in Harrogate totalling more than £2,000.
Benjamin Pye, 30, pleaded guilty to one offence of theft by employee yesterday (February 9) during a hearing at York Magistrates Court.
According to court documents, Pye stole £2,282 from the North Yorkshire Council-owned Active North Yorkshire – Harrogate Leisure and Wellbeing Hub, between February 9 and 28, 2024, as an employee.
The leisure centre was referred to by the court under its previous name of The Hydro.
Pye, of Knaresborough Road, was handed a 12-month community order during which he must complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £2,282 in compensation.
