Volunteer rescuers came to the aid of an injured woman at a popular walking area near Knaresborough yesterday (November 9).
Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was summoned to Horseshoe Field, between the Beryl Burton cycleway and Conyngham Hall at 5.30pm.
According to the association’s incident report, the woman had injured her knee and was unable to walk.
The report added:
The first team member arrived at the car park and was just ready to leave when the Yorkshire Ambulance Service ambulance arrived, they escorted one of the paramedics to the casualty site whist the second crew member relocated their vehicle.
On assessment by Yorkshire Ambulance Service the casualty had an isolated knee injury but was unable to stand on their injured leg. Following the arrival of the team the casualty was stretchered back to Conyngham Hall where they were transferred to the waiting ambulance for transport to Harrogate hospital.
We would like to wish the lady a speedy recovery.
It turned out to be the first of two call-outs for the association yesterday. At 9.50pm, police asked it to attend Ickornshaw Moor at Cowling in Craven to help a night runner who had fallen and injured their knee.
