We're looking for a driven, talented journalist to join the news desk at the Stray Ferret and help the team cover the stories that matter most to the region.

Since our launch in March 2020, we have rapidly grown a substantial following, broken original stories and punched well above our weight for a local news site. 

This year we introduced a subscription model, which means people pay to view our news, so it has to be good. We take news seriously and want to do more.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least two years researching and writing stories in a newsroom.

You must live in our patch, which covers Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Pateley Bridge and Masham and have a hunger for breaking news and writing fast, accurate articles in an environment that encourages good quality journalism.

Employment type: Full time, office based.

Start date: January 2025.

Salary: Up to £25,000 based on experience.
