Temporary traffic lights remain in place on Dishforth Road at Sharow this morning following a burst water main over the weekend.
The burst pipe, near Sharow Village Hall, is the latest in a long line of incidents to affect this stretch of road that passes through Sharow and towards the A1 from Ripon.
Local resident and roads campiagner James Thornborouh told the Stray Ferret:
I reckon that there have been at least seven mains water leak repairs across Sharow in recent years and it's beyond a joke.

He added:
In addition to the burst main at the weekend, Dishforth Road is currently closed, except for access from Ripon bypass, due to long-term work by Yorkshire Water on the replacement of mains water pipes, which has been ongoing since April.
