Knaresborough company awarded 'Best Independent Financial Advisory Firm 2024'

A well-known Knaresborough company has been recognised as with a prestigious award on a national stage.
Prosperis – led by CEO and founder Niall Gunn and chairman Paul Meehan – was recently awarded ‘Best Independent Financial Advisory Firm’ at the SME500 UK Awards 2024.
According to the SME500 website, the awards seek to ‘most outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises… that demonstrate exceptional innovation, growth, and commitment to excellence’.
Speaking about what winning the award means to the team, Niall Gunn said:

The award marks another milestone in a successful 18 months for the business. In October 2023 it announced the completion of its acquisition of fellow finance company, RMB Financial Management Ltd.
This move was swiftly followed by the acquisition of Newcastle-based Stephen McDine Limited in January this year.
Since Prosperis was established in 2002, the firm has carved out a niche in wealth management, employee benefits, investment management, and financial planning.
In the 22 years since, it has a proven track record of commitment to client satisfaction, working with organisations not only in the Harrogate district but across the UK.
Niall has been in the financial services industry, with a specific niche in wealth management and employee benefits for over 40 years and has operated at board level within UK regulatory approved designations.
In 2012, Niall was joined in the business by local entrepreneur and business adviser, Paul Meehan, who brought his knowledge of insurance broking to the role of chairman and has been working ever since to deliver the firm’s expansion strategy.
Since 2017, Prosperis has been enjoying a period of vast growth, purchasing a number of firms in and around Yorkshire. Currently it manages in excess of £450m of client’s assets.
