A house on the edge of Knaresborough was destroyed by fire in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from Knaresborough, Harrogate and Acomb were called to the property on Allerton Lane, which is close to Allerton Castle, at 3.09am.
One person required medical help but nobody was seriously injured.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident report said:
Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the area. The fire resulted in 100% fire damage to the property. All occupants were accounted for and out of the property on the arrival of crews. One occupant was assessed and left in the care of paramedics.
The Stray Ferret asked North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service for further details, including the suspected cause and whether other homes were affected.
A spokesperson replied:
"There was no damage to any other properties. The incident remains open for fire investigation, so no cause has been established at this time."
