A Knaresborough pub has won best beer pub at the Great British Pub Awards 2025.
Blind Jack’s, a family-owned independent pub on Market Place, was one of six contenders for the category.
The pub, named after the blind 18th-century Knaresborough road builder Jack Metcalf, has been a free house since 1991.
It managed to fend off competition from pubs in Leeds, Huddersfield, Clitheroe, Tamworth and London to pick up the award at the ceremony held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds
Christian Ogley, director of Blind Jack’s, said in a social media post:
From our tiny North Yorkshire pub, to standing on the national stage. Blind Jack’s was crowned the UK’s best beer pub. It just doesn’t get better than that.
The annual awards, organised by William Reed Events, celebrate excellence and boost the profile of pubs.
