Leeds Bradford Airport will be closed overnight following a problem with the runway.
In a statement issued this evening (October 24), the airport said it had taken the decision to shut until tomorrow morning due to an “unforeseen issue with the runway”.
Leeds Bradford Airport has not disclosed what the issue is, but advised travellers to contact airlines for the most up-to-date information on flights.
Tonight’s statement added:
We are working to resolve the disruption as soon as possible, the safety and comfort of the passengers travelling through our terminal is our number one priority. Our team is on the ground in the terminal to answer any customer queries regarding departures.
It is not yet known what time the airport expects to reopen tomorrow.
No further information has been released at this stage, but the Stray Ferret will provide updates when they become available.
