A final poll from a major polling company has predicted the Liberal Democrats will win in Harrogate and Knaresborough, while the Conservatives will hang on in Ripon.

Survation published its MRP poll last night, which estimates that the Labour Party are on course for a 318-seat majority nationally. The Tories would be reduced to just 64 seats.

The poll quizzed 34,558 people online and on the telephone between June 15 and July 2.

In the Harrogate district, it predicts the Liberal Democrats will win Harrogate and Knaresborough for the first time since losing the seat at the 2010 election.

The polls also estimates that Labour will win the newly created Wetherby and Easingwold constituency by a margin of just 0.2%.
