A life-sized plastic cow has been stolen from a field in a village near Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police today issued an appeal for help locating the cow, which it says was taken from Kirkby Overblow between Tuesday, January 14 and Tuesday, January 28.
The appeal added:
The cow is a heavy, solid plastic structure, making it exceptionally difficult to remove.
We would particularly appreciate any sightings of this "moooving" cow (yes, we know we had to!) and any details that could help us return it to its rightful owner.
It did not give any further information, including who the cow belongs to and why its loss was unnoticed for so long.
Anyone with information is urged to email david.mackay@northyorkshire.police.uk or call 101, select option 2 and ask for David Mackay.
Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111 or visit its website.
