The main road through Starbeck has been closed due to a burst water main.
Knaresborough road is closed in both directions on the Harrogate side of the Starbeck railway crossing.
Local residents have told the Stray Ferret that a central section of the road had been cordoned off recently as a dent had appeared in the centre of the road but last night water began to pour out of it.
Yorkshire Water says emergency repair work to the main has now been completed and work is now being carried out to resurface the road.
The closure is expected to be in place until 6pm this evening.
The Harrogate Bus Company has posted that buses are being diverted:

Trains are stopping at Starbeck station.
