A lot is happening on Ripon's busy independents-led high street, as retailers and hospitality businesses invest in their premises.

Yorkshire Trading Co. which occupies the large site on the corner of Market Square East and Moss's Arcade, has gone through an overnight transformation.

The revamp incudes a totally new frontage which dramatically improves the look of the store, where smashed windows had remained boarded up for many months.

Across Market Square on Fishergate, the Peacocks' signage has gone up on the large former M&Co unit.

Workers are currently fitting out the store in readiness for the value fashion retailer to leap unto action on February 29.

Further along Fishergate, the reconfiguration of  Halls of Ripon, the city's only department store is ongoing.

The work will make space for up to seven independent traders to take space alongside 16 existing tenants.

Meanwhile, a couple of doors down from Halls Fishergate premises, the Oliver's Pantry cafe/restaurant on North Street, is back open after owners Tim and Lou Grant carried out a makeover, involving redecoration and new design features.
