Harrogate Convention Centre has signed a new contract with the Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show to host the event until 2028.
The convention centre announced the news today (October 17), ahead of this year’s show from October 31 to November 2.
Th 31-year-old show is one of six large-scale exhibitions taking place at the venue this autumn.
According to organisers, the exhibition is expected to attract around 10,000 visitors and generate £766,000, excluding project spend, in business to the spa town’s hospitality sector.
More than 240 exhibitors will be showcasing sustainable living products and building and renovation solutions at the 2025 show, which also includes seminars and masterclasses.
Convention centre director Paula Lorimer said multi-day exhibitions at this scale “bring significant traffic to local hotels, restaurants, bars and shops after the summer holiday season” and Simon Cotton, managing director of the HRH Group, which own the Fat Badger and White Hart Hotel, along with The Pickled Sprout and Yorkshire Hotel, said it was “great news for Harrogate”.
Mr Cotton added:
The demographic of the visitors to a show like this fit perfectly into the kind of visitor Harrogate needs. By the nature of being a public show and the attendees clearly being people with disposable income to invest, they naturally go out and enjoy restaurants, bars and other hospitality venues as part of their overall visit. Historically, on top of the exhibitors needing hotel rooms, demand from visitors of the show has also been good for the town's hotels.
Nick Noble, commercial and events director at show organiser Future PLC, said:
“We're delighted to extend our arrangement with Harrogate Convention Centre for another three years. We choose Harrogate for its excellent location and the first-class facilities it has to offer. The venue is always a major highlight of our annual calendar of events for exhibitors, visitors and our organising team.”
Other upcoming public exhibitions at the convention centre include Thought Bubble Comic Convention, on November 15 and 16, and Knit + Stitch, from November 20 to 23.
