A man has died after a serious collision near Boroughbridge.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened at around 7.15am this morning (September 19) when a Fiat 500, a John Deere tractor and a HGV collided on the A168 near Dishforth Airfield.
The Fiat and tractor were travelling south towards Boroughbridge, while the HGV was travelling in the opposite direction towards Thirsk, officers said.
Police have now confirmed that the driver of the Fiat, a 70-year-old man from Malton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
The HGV driver, a 45-year-old man from Stockton, suffered minor injuries, while the tractor driver, a 57-year-old man, was uninjured.
The road remains closed to allow investigation work to continue. Police said they hope to have the road reopen by 6pm today.
