An 80-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving near Boroughbridge.
William Beckett, of Back Lane in Vernham Dean, Hampshire, denied the offence during a hearing at York Crown Court today (March 18).
Mr Beckett is alleged to have caused the death of Nicholas Gilroy by driving without due care and attention on May 20, 2023.
Mr Gilroy died on July 29 that year.
The alleged offence occurred on the B6265 at the junction with Front Street in Aldborough.
A trial date was set for August 17.
