A man has been accused of burgling a home and stealing a car in Harrogate.
Daniel Prague, of no fixed abode, appeared at York Magistrates Court on Monday (August 4) charged with one count of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and one count of burglary at a dwelling and theft (without violence).
The case was heard just a day after the alleged offences took place.
According to court documents, Mr Prague is alleged to have entered a property on Valley Mount as a trespasser and stole a set of car keys on August 3.
On the same day, the 24-year-old defendant allegedly stole a Volkswagen Golf, which the car keys belonged to, from the same property.
The case was transferred to York Crown Court, where Mr Prague will appear on September 8 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
