A man has denied a high-value burglary and theft at a home in a village near Harrogate.

Joshua Tilleard, 28, yesterday (December 23) denied one offence of burglary and theft at a dwelling without violence during a hearing at Harrogate Magistrates Court.

Mr Tilleard, whose address was listed as HMP Wealstun, appeared via video link. He spoke only to confirm his name, age and to deny the offence.

The defendant is alleged to have entered a property on Moorlands Fold in Killinghall as a trespasser and stolen various items valued at £57,160.

The alleged offence occurred between October 16 and 19, 2024.

The case was transferred to York Crown Court, where Mr Tilleard is due to appear on February 2.
