Lee Sherburne pleaded guilty at Harrogate Magistrates Court to one count of driving while disqualified on May 23 last year.
He appeared at court for sentencing on Thursday (February 6).
Sherburne, 37, who gave an address in Manchester, was filmed driving a car on Priest Lane in Ripon on May 23, the court heard.
Mel Ibbertson, prosecuting, said the defendant drove for around ten minutes to buy alcohol from a shop.
He had been disqualified from driving for two years in March 2024.
Brian Nuttney, defending, said Sherburne had entered an early guilty plea and that he regretted his actions.
The defendant drove the short distance to the shop as he was not able to walk due to a knee injury, the defence said.
Magistrates sentenced the Sherburne to a 12 month community order, which includes 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was also banned from driving for six months, which will run concurrently with his existing disqualification.
