Man fights off robber in Starbeck

The incident took place by the allotments.

A man fought off a robber, who left empty-handed, after being approached in Starbeck.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened by the allotments on Forest Avenue at 11.05pm on Thursday, August 13.

The intended victim was carrying two bags, when a man came up to him and asked what was in the bags.

The victim challenged the suspect and there was a fight, before the robber left empty-handed.

During the incident the victim got a minor graze to his abdomen.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident is urged by police to get in touch with police, along with anyone who lives in the area with CCTV or doorbell footage.
