The collision occurred at the junction of the A658 and B6163 Thistle Hill.

A man remains seriously injured following a two-car collision near Knaresborough yesterday (February 23).

North Yorkshire Police today said the crash, which occurred on the A658 at the junction with the B6163 Thistle Hill in the Calcutt area, happened at around 7.40am.

A white Toyota Aygo collided with a grey Audi Q2 at the time.

The driver of the Aygo – a man in his 60s – was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary, where he remains in serious condition.

The A658 was closed for most of the day to allow an investigation to be carried out.

Police said the Audi driver is helping with enquiries, but officers are seeking witnesses or dashcam footage to assist with the investigation:

Please email chris.storey@northyorkshire.police.uk if you witnessed the incident, have any relevant dashcam, or have any other information that could help our investigation.

Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Chris Storey.
