A man who breached his suspended sentence order has been jailed.
James Gibb, of no fixed address, was jailed at York Magistrates Court last Thursday (May 29).
He admitted to failing to comply with a requirement of a suspended sentence order imposed at Harrogate Magistrates Court on June 6 last year.
Gibb was convicted of assaulting a police officer and a paramedic in Killinghall and handed a 10-week custodial sentence, suspended for two years.
The court heard at the time Gibb sprinted towards the paramedic with a screwdriver in his hand.
He also called a female police officer a "fat little slag", and led her to believe he would spit on her.
Gibb was required to attend rehabilitation activity appointments with the probation service as part of the order.
However, according to court documents, he failed to attend appointments on December 2 and December 16 last year.
He also failed to provide acceptable evidence within five working days of the absences.
In addition, the 36-year-old was convicted of two counts of theft from a shop.
Gibb stole £52 worth of goods from a BP petrol station in Ripon on February 18 this year.
He returned to the store on the same day, when he stole £34.91 worth of items.
Gibb was sentenced for all the offences last Thursday.
The 10-week suspended sentence order was activated, and Gibb was handed a four-week custodial sentence for each theft.
He was jailed for a total of 18 weeks.
