A man who sent a woman more than 160 unwanted emails has been sentenced for harassment.
Mark Shipman, 47, was sentenced at York Magistrates court on Tuesday (March 17) after admitting one offence of harassment without violence last month.
According to court documents, Shipman sent the named woman 163 unwanted emails from a property in Green Hammerton between March 12 and May 27 last year.
Shipman, of Linton Meadow in Linton-on-Ouse, originally denied the offence and was due to stand trial on February 12.
However, he changed his plea that day.
Shipman was subsequently handed a 12-month community order, during which he must carry out up to 15 rehabilitation activity days.
He was ordered to pay a £415 fine, £400 in prosecution costs and a £114 surcharge.
