A mental health trust is set to move its services into Jesmond House in Harrogate.

The building, which is located on Victoria Avenue, was previously used as offices for adult social care staff at North Yorkshire Council.

However, the council vacated the building in February this year as part of a review of its properties which aimed to save £600,000.

Now, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust looks set to move its adult mental health and children adolescent mental health services into the building.

The trust provides services across Harrogate, County Durham and Teeside.

In a document submitted to North Yorkshire Council, the trust has proposed minor alterations to the building.

In a planning statement, the trust said:

TEWV already provide services from several bases in Harrogate including at Dragon Parade, Windsor House and Jennyfields.

The trust propose to relocate all their services to a new base at Jesmond House from 2025. Existing staff will relocate from the existing sites to the refurbished three storey building on Victoria Avenue.

The authority approved the alterations to the building.

The move comes as the council sought to rationalise some of its properties to make savings.

As well as Jesmond House, the authority reviewed other buildings in Malton, Skipton, Northallerton, Scarborough and Richmond.
