Almost 100 people took part in a naked walk near Ripon on Sunday.

The event at the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park was one of a series of charity fundraising walks being staged by British Naturism this summer.

It was the second year in a row the garden has hosted a naked walk.

Participants paid for tickets costing between £15 and £35 to take part. This went towards the British Heart Foundation, which benefited to the tune of £1,175 from the event.

For the second consecutive year, the weather was decidedly cool for stripping off.

Nevertheless, a British Naturism spokesman said the attendance was up on last year. They added:

The weather was drizzly, but undeterred, most of us stripped off and carried just an umbrella.

New to naturism attendees said that they had enjoyed what was a thoroughly exhilarating experience and they were instantly converted to the freedom of walking naked. We will certainly be back next June – do feel free to join us!
