A new community cafe has opened at a Harrogate church.
The Lounge Cafe, which is located at St Mark’s Church on Leeds Road, will provide a space for morning coffee and events.
The move comes after the church transformed its former community room into a cafe, with armchairs, a serving counter and kitchen.
Mike Resch, vicar at St Mark’s, said:
We are incredibly excited for the future of The Lounge Café. We would like it to become the hub of local life, bringing people from all ages and backgrounds together giving older people, young mums and visitors to the town, a real sense of community and friendship.
The cafe will also host talks, music and other activities.
At the first event, at 10.30am on May 26, police community support officers Olivia Bigsby and Richard Northcott will give advice on phone safety, scams and personal security.
The Lounge Cafe will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am until 1.30pm. Last orders for lunch will be at 1pm.
