A group dedicated to supporting mothers is set to launch in Harrogate.
The Mum Club, a nationwide initiative that aims to bring mums and mums-to-be together, hosts a range of events across the country - and local mothers can soon be part of them.
A Harrogate franchise has been set up by Kat Dennis, a local mum and former teacher who felt the area was missing something specifically for mothers.
Kat told the Stray Ferret the town has been “truly missing this kind of space”, adding:
Motherhood is magical but also isolating, overwhelming and full on. I wanted to create something different; a welcoming, judgement-free zone where mums can relax, recharge and connect with others. It’s about support, laughter and real conversation.
Most importantly, it’s about putting you [mothers] first.
The Mum Club Harrogate will be “more than your average mum meet-up”, Kat said, and people can look forward to coffee mornings, brunches, cinema club sessions, picnics, fitness classes, special guests and pop-up events.
“It’s a space for mums to connect, unwind and feel truly seen – whether you’re in the newborn fog, chasing little ones or somewhere in between”, Kat added.
The Stray Ferret asked Kat when and where the first event will be held. She did not disclose the details but said they will be announced soon.
All mums are welcome at The Mum Club Harrogate events, including pregnant women or mothers “just in need of an adult conversation”, as well as babies and toddlers.
Events will be held monthly and will also be ticketed.
Kat said prices will vary according to the type of event.

Founded in 2016, The Mum Club markets itself as a community for women to meet, laugh, learn, discuss and build authentic relationships.
Founders Lauren Webber and Jessica Lawes launched the company following a “mutual frustration that there is nothing out there that truly focusses on the women”.
They wanted to create an environment that puts mothers’ needs first, rather than events that are entirely baby-centric.
