Crowds of 15,000 people are expected to attend Nidderdale Show, commonly known as Pateley Show, this weekend.

The traditional agricultural show, which is held annually at Nidderdale Showground, returns this Sunday (September 21) for its 153rd year.

People can look forward to a range of livestock, agricultural products, food stalls, entertainment and awards to bring the local show season to a close.

Find everything you need to know about the show, including what to expect and travel information, below.

Timings

Gates open early, with the first class – the judging of horsemanship and horse riding class - set to start at 7.45am.

The 170 different trade stands will be open from 9am until 5.30pm.

The show will round off with the show jumping competitions at around 6pm.

Travelling to the show

Drivers are advised to set off early or use alternative routes to avoid show traffic.

Organisers ask visitors to follow the show signage, rather than phone maps or SATNAV, as they near Pateley Bridge. Signs for Bewerley car parks will be displayed.

Car parking on show day is free and a park-and-ride system will be in place, with tractors and trailers taking people to-and-from the showground and Bewerley car park. Below is a map of the park-and-ride route.

Pateley Bridge's High Street will shut temporarily at 11am as the brass band parade down the street towards the showground.

For little ones there will be arts and crafts, biscuit decorating, face painting and a sandpit.

There is a baby changing facility and bottle warming and breastfeeding areas at the site.

Dogs are permitted but must remain on a short lead.
