A Ripon school has been praised by Ofsted in a report published this week.
Government inspectors visited Ripon Cathedral Church of England Primary School on February 4 and 5.
It was an ungraded inspection to see if the 205-pupil school on Priest Lane had maintained the standards demonstrated at its last visit in 2020.
The report said the school, which is part of the Diocese of Leeds, had “kept a clear focus on improvement since the previous inspection” and "pupils are happy and feel safe at this welcoming and inclusive school".
It added:
They describe the school as a friendly place where everyone helps each other. Relationships between adults and pupils are positive and warm. Pupils trust the adults in school to take good care of them.
The school’s curriculum identifies and sequences logically the key knowledge pupils need to remember.
Teachers have strong subject knowledge and present information clearly. Staff quickly spot misconceptions. They provide effective support to help pupils to keep up.
Behaviour was found to be “exceptionally positive”, and the school was priased for setting high standards and expectations.
Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities achieve well due to “highly effective” support strategies and extra out-of-classroom support.
Inspectors also said safeguarding arrangements were effective.
The Stray Ferret has approached the school for comment.
